Hope you had a very Merry Christmas...

...we did! Lots of treats and more toys!
Now we are both tired...and getting ready for the New Year!

But it's 8:30 PM and that means TREAT TIME!!

Keeper of the bird cage....

Abby, my 5 year old Pacific Parrotlet's cage was in the in the kitchen, but it was time for a change. (Abby is only about 5 inches long and sitting at the top left in her cage)

 Now she is in the living room and the girls love to play near her. They make sure she doesn't drop anything yummy to eat!

Note the bell on the door. Both have learned to 'ring the bell' when its time to go potty! Now, how cool is that!

I killed it...now I rest!

Eating leaves...

...and sitting in the warm sun on the patio. This morning is cold. 30 degrees. The leaves are damp and they both seem to find delight in their morning 'snack'.

Ears...

 Sophie at 5 months...here she is learning the word 'Down'.  Ears are standing.

Zoe' just turned 5 months on the 14TH. Today, her ears is almost standing! The printer made a sound...that got her attention.

I now know to trim the hair on the ears...looks like its time to do Zoe's again.

Night time fun...

They love to hide and play under the recliner! Put a cover over it and WOW...You have a TENT! They will play for hours. At some point Zoe' will be on they outside with Sophie underneath, just egging Zoe' on. Finally, tuckered out they take a nap until 'treat' time. Believe me, they know when it's 8:30!!

Is it dinner yet?

They know....but where is Dad?!?!  What! Does that mean NO DINNER!!! OHHH NOOO!!
No worries, I will feed them. They don't care who feeds them, JUST DO IT!! lol

A day at the Dog Park...

Zoe's first visit and what fun! Only 2 other dogs this time. Just enough to make for a nice outing.

Big sister...help me!!

Zoe' was put in 'time-out' but instead of going to her bed, she ran to Sophie. The best part is, Sophie 'allowed' her to sit next to her!!  Now that is love.

Yesterday Zoe' had the misfortune of falling into the pool.
I had only turned around to open the door for Sophie and when I turned back around I could see the water moving in the pool. Since there was no wind...I knew what happened. I rushed to the side and the poor baby had swim 1/4 of the way around towards me... I grabbed her, rushed indoors for a nice rub down and a low warm hair dryer!
The temp of the water was 55 degrees....She's fine, but as you can see Sophie is a bit protective of her today.

The girls, do anyway. They had fun for while playing tug o' war. Dh cut the bottom out...giving them room to almost crawl threw...
My asthma is acting up so I have to be real careful not to laugh too much!! LOL

                                                Each afternoon Sophie waits and watches.
I just noticed that I have not put away all the nick nacks that Zoe' has gotten into. She found them on the window ledge and had a blast with all the nautical stuff. Not like she doesn't have her own 'toys'....

Getting cozy....

After a few days of not feeling well and doing nothing but laying around its time to get busy. This is the last of 3 afghans I am making for the grand kids.  As you can see, Zoe' is really enjoying the warmth. 

 They were never allowed to be near the other 4 I have made...so she feels honored to lay on this one! My daughter has 3 pups herself, so I did not think she would mind...

What is it they say about curiosity...

Dh is working on the fireplace and a little wall touch up...Under a ladder is a fun place for Sophie and of course Zoe' has something in her mouth! Nothing new there! lol

At almost 4 months...

Zoe' now weights 5lbs and 10 oz. She gained a whole 2 pounds this month! She is half the weight of Sophie and I am wondering if she will be a 'mini me' of Sophie. Zoe' if you notice has what is called the 'teddy bear' face, and Sophie has the 'little girl' or 'fox face'.

Next Monday Zoe' will be able to go to the dog park. I told the vet I can not wait to take them both...or AM I REALLY???? He just smiled and said..."Have fun and good luck!"

The weather should hold up for a while. Stay tune, you know I will have pictures and a story or two to share!

Time Change? What time change??

Of course that means nothing to 2 Yorkie's! Up at 5AM and forget about holding them back for breakfast! No way that was gonna happen! 
This '2 dog thing' is sooo NEW TO ME....I just don't get it. I have 2 daughters, 10 years apart so therefore I am not sure how to handle sibling rivalry. Ok, I know they are DOGS...but gees! Sophie wants whatever Zoe' has! No matter if I put 2 of the same thing out...she will always go for what Zoe' has. Driving me nuts! 

They get along great, for the most part. The only thing is that Sophie wants to sleep near me, or away from the pup. Only if the pup is already asleep will she go and lay down next to her. Sophie can be a grouch...and she hates mornings! Too funny! I told my dh that the dogs have taken on our personalities. I am the morning person, HE is NOT!  Well, Zoe' loves mornings!

We were sad to see that 2 large and 1 small tree have died. It was a long hot summer...I guess we are lucky that was all we lost. The 2 are right next to the RV inside of the 'porch' area. That's gonna be fun bring those down....

We will go back and burn more leaves later in the season...I love being there in the winter.

The pups made new friends while we walked around the lake. Water is so low that it breaks your heart. Can't get the boat in near our area, but I know next year will be better!

Sophie was not ever into 'this' but boy did DH and Zoe' have a blast! Sophie just sat in the background not really caring what all the hoop-la was about! Ahhh, the things we do for entertainment! LOL

Sweet Potato Treats!

 Yummy! Our friend Elaine dehydrated some for her dogs and she was kind enough to share with the girls. They loved them!

Zoe had her second round of shots and now is wearing  'bling' that is bigger then she is! Gotta love the state of TEXAS~lol She now weights 3.10 pounds. Gain a whole lb. since last month.

Sophie was very unhappy when we left for the vet without her. She is such a 'car' girl. So, to make it up, I took her to the dog park for a couple of hours. Came home and slept, life is good.

RVing with 'The Girls'

We went to Wichita, Kansas for a six night stay so my husband could build his daughter's deck. We traveled with both pups and Abby, my Pacific Parrotlett. Fun times! Here Sophie is checking out both the outdoors and Abby.

RVing is hard work. The park had a lot of trees and we walked a lot. Zoe' would sleep up my feet, as always!

I stayed at the RV a couple of days while dh worked. It was nice for me, but he is pretty worn out.

The last night we were there, Sophie got a little stick 'bone' stuck in the floor vent. Well here he is

to the rescue. 

The girls did very well for the 6 hour drive. Slept most of the way and only had to make stops about every 2 hours. At the end of the trip the girls warmed up to each other sleeping on my lap, as you can see.

It was nice to be home, but sometimes 'HOME SWEET HOME is over-rated! LOL The power went out about 8 pm and it was hot as you know what! The temp was record braking again... But, today is a new day..and yes home sweet home!

Play day....

Today we were invited to my friends house. She has 2 dogs, a pet friendly home and yard. So, off we went. The girls did great with her 2 males. Zoe' showed no fear, nor any mercy on Taffy. They played until they dropped. Here is Zoe' fast asleep knowing Taffy is NOT allowed under the coffee table...Smart girl.

Yesterday....

...Zoe' has started barking at me when she has to potty! Wow...I'm impressed! Having a 'big sister' has helped, I think. Even DH make a comment that perhaps she's faster at 'potty' training. Don't get me wrong, I still have to watch her like a hawk, all the time. Oh, she does get a cheerio as a 'reward'! Till today, it's even Sophie's favorite snacks!
A few nights ago we had some much need rain. Sophie is use to it and really doesn't mind being wet. It wasn't all  way the case. Last year for her, we had a 'cover' for her...

It was great! But all good things must come to an end. One night, rain turned into ice and down it went. It was just not strong enough for all that weight. So, for now it as not been replaced. So, Zoe' will just have to get wet...poor baby. *smile*
